Allergies- I've got plenty

I am allergic to a number of things and let me tell you I hate it.

Let's start with trees pollen. Yes, you can be allergic to trees pollen. It's quite usual actually.
I'm allergic to birch, alder and mug worth ( I just used the google translator and I hope this is a real tree kind) and also freshly cut grass.

Due to what's called cross effect I'm allergic to:
Apples
Pear
Nectarines
Apricots
Plums
Peas
Strawberries
Cabbage
Carrots
Cherries
Kiwi
Mango
Passion fruit
Celery
Hazelnuts
Walnuts
Almond

And probably something else, I honestly can't remember all. The severeness of the allergies also goes hand in hand sometimes with the season of pollen.

I can eat all these things after they've been heat treated. I eat strawberries and fresh peas, because they are delicious, but can only eat a fair amount before it gets uncomfortable.

So what's the deal, what happens?
If I eat something I'm allergic to my throat starts to tickle (it means it's swelling), my gums start to itch and my tongue can swell up too. Not that cool.

This wasn't all, I'm also allergic to almost all animals:

Dogs
Cats (highly allergic)
Horses
Guinea pigs & hamsters
Rabbits
Rats
Ferrets
Super allergic to bees (need to go to hospital asap if stung)
Mosquitoes (normal people get tiny but itchy spots if stung, my 'spots' are the size of a kneecap. Seriously.)
Basically all of them

Which sucks major a** is the fact that I love, love dogs.
Allergic reaction to animals? Skin develops red itchy spots, eyes start to itch and close up, I develop a flu like coughing and sneezing with lovely wheezing. Worst cases my throat starts to swell up.

Some, smart, people carry an EpiPen with them in case they have an anaphylactic shock. It contains epinephrine which narrows blood vessels and opens airways in the lungs. These effects can reverse severe low blood pressure, wheezing, severe skin itching, hives and other symptoms of an allergic reaction.
I should too.

Being so allergic has and does definitely get in my way so to say. My mother has dogs that I absolutely love but I can stand to be there, due to allergies I love my mom, only few hours. If I stay longer it takes longer for me to get back to normal. It sometimes takes days.

So when I say I'm not a hiker or a camper it's also because of the damn mosquitoes and the fact that I'm a city girl. My allergies may have influenced that though now that I think about it.

Like right now in Helsinki there's a birch season going strong followed by straight after the other two kinds that I'm allergic to. Hence, I'm forced to stay indoors mostly. It does suck like I said.

I do take drugs everyday, during the pollen season and when I go see my mom, antihistamine + nose spray + eye drops. If I'm out for long during this time, the next morning I wake up with even puffier eyes than normally and can't stop my nose from running.

I know it's hard for someone who's not allergic to understand but that is why I wrote this blog, to share information.

What does every hip blogger in Helsinki need ?

Well, a hip blogger has a Mac book and an Iphone. I've got a pc, so I don't know if can call myself a real blogger.

Hip blogger has ripped jeans and beautifully manicured or gelled nails.

A designer bag is a must. Pictures with flowers and champagne (read alcohol that looks cool) should be on everyone's Instagram feed every once in a while.

Regardless of bloggers eyesight these are the IT- glasses, I actually do need these. The chrome sunglasses are also very hip.

If one wants to be seen as cool and relaxed one uses a cotton bag, preferably from Marimekko.

Blogger must take photos of food, best if it's organic & healthy, lattes and beauty magazines.

This hat is the IT- hat at the moment- super cool. Not me or on me, I only wear 'trucker' caps if having bad hair day.

All photos by me, as usual, except for the Mac and the hat- they're from Pixabay.

Näsinneula- restaurant at Tampere

Took a day trip from Helsinki to Tampere, the drive is about few hours. As you can see from the pictures the weather was unbelievable, such a beautiful blue, clear sky. Wondered where in Tampere would you get the best view?
The answer is Näsinneula observatory tower. The tower is in total 168m high and has a revolving (!) restaurant at that's at 134m. A whole tour, takes 45min to turn 360'.

I'd never been to Näsinneula or the restaurant and I'm also afraid of heights and get motion sick. However, I was feeling adventurous so up we went.

The views were amazing ! The amusement park that you can see on the picture below is called Särkänniemi.

Like I sais I was feeling adventurous so instead of a regular meat meal I ordered a Vegetarian menu. Great choice. I was so excited during the first courses that I only took Instagram story videos, apologies for the photos.

This was the tiniest and tastiest soup I've had. Normally I do not like soups but this was fantastic. It was Compliment from the kitchen.

Next was white asparagus with roasted cauliflower. Gooood.

This fun looking cutie was tomate sorbét and it tasted as weird as it looks.

The main course was asparagus risotto with Jerusalem artichoke. Heaven, my goodness this was good.

A selection of Finnish cheeses and super tasty jam made by Näsinneula kitchen.

Dessert was coconut- vanilla pudding with strawberry.

Even a regular latte was so good I didn't realize to take a picture before it was gone.

Besides the food I think that the restaurant should have great service, which we did thank you, pleasant surroundings, and clean, nice toilets. Just look how nice theirs are.

A trip that was totally worth sitting in the car for over fours hours, highly recommend. Oh and I did not get scared of the height nor did I get motion sickness.
Here's a link to Näsinneula restaurants site, you need to make a reservation if you plan on going !

I should have asked who the caterer was because I loved these miniburgers.

Those little cupcakes with blueberry on top.. I think I ate two. Okay. Three. Fine, four! But don't tell anyone.

Got this summerbag as a thank you for stopping by, I designed to put the lipstick and heart there.
